Week 8: 26/04/2016

While reading Sarah’s blog post on “Minecraft” I was quite interested in her thoughts on how the game Minecraft could be used in the classroom to engage children. This sparked my curiosity to explore the benefits of Minecraft on students learning. While exploring I came across this particular website, which I found quite amazing as it talks about how Minecraft helps teach students real-world skills. I particularly found the following comment intriguing “Minecraft is an open-ended “sandbox” that doesn’t come with instructions, so the gameplay is confusing – but that’s what makes it irresistible.” (Rock, 2016). This website also has some really interesting YouTube videos if anyone is interested!
